Stella's Social Club

Just talked to my new neighbor the other day. Asked him if I could put in a small chicken coop under my Grapefruit Tree.... he said 'Yes"... but I told him I have to have permission from his wife too! Developing...

Halloween more likely. Yuck.

Hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day! I spent the day moving my bedroom back upstairs! I decided to convert the little room downstairs to a photography studio for my blog photos. I found out stairclimbing was actually more with me sleeping downstairs because I ran up and down to the basement all day to use my studio. Having it on the first floor will be better because I will have natural light for my photos and access to the dishwasher! I can also easily move my tripod a few steps to the kitchen for cooking shots.

Michael helped me (willingly

) with the move and picked up a pizza for dinner so that was a great Valentine gift! Now we just have a queen size bed to move down to the basement tomorrow. Right now it's in the living room. I am actually looking forward to the privacy upstairs for sleeping and to get my private bathroom back.

The farrier comes early tomorrow morning so I have to get the donkeys all harnessed up and moved to the side yard in the morning. Tony's wife breaks and trains wild mustangs. She is a godsend when Jack acts out. She knows just what to do to calm him down. I feel so fortunate to have found them.

We had 28F yesterday, seemed almost like summer, the chickens thought so too, the roosters were calling every time I opened the door. I really got to get a couple broody pens built, two of the pullets are on the nest whenever I look in the pen.

I am looking for an Icelandic dog this year, a puppy actually, it has to be a small pup to grow up with the 3 resident cats. They might drown an older dog if it got rowdy with them, but they would tolerate a puppy that gave them their proper deference. I think that the mother cat might even allow pillow rights.

Life goes on, and its pretty good, but I sure get hungry looking at Michaels dinners !

Jake - good luck in your dog search! Maybe Mike can help you find one.

I have a barnevelder pullet (almost hen) plucking her breast. So far she's still laying, but I was shocked yesterday when I reached under her and felt skin.
