Altogether seven hatched. I cannot seem to get a splash. All I want is a splash and all I get is black and blue. Ah well, they're still cute!

thanks for continuing to keep me entertained everybody.

DW is in Northern UT with our first grandbaby.

I'm taking care of the three at home. Working hard at the office.

Can't wait til she gets home. NEXT Monday.

#1 got his University diploma last Dec. but DW will be there to watch him walk and have his name called on Saturday.

Neighbor said no to chickens. Oh well.

I enjoy watching the wild quail here.

Wow, two of the busiest chicks I've ever tried to photograph. Add to that I was using DH's point & shoot and the battery was going dead. I'll try to get better photos in the next couple of days.

But they are black, I've had black chicks before, but this black is different.
Very interesting.

Dar, chickens or not - we always save a warm spot on the roost for you. Love to see you pop up.
Well said Diva.

I gave a couple of the chicks to Toni Turkey. She is very sweet and docile. Listen to her talk.....
So sweet!

OMG Jack just stomped Tucker! Michael was working on the pump in the pasture and I guess Tucker followed him out there. I was working on coops when I heard a yelp and saw Jack up on his back legs coming down on little Tucker with his front. Tucker got out and headed back for the house crying. I was running like a fool to get to him. I am looked him all over and don't see anything wrong and he is walking ok. OMG!
Oh no! I hope he is okay!

Any news about Tucker? Hope he's okay today.

We made it through the night. Winds howled, making for some nice sleep with the open window, but we've seen worse. It's still raining and more storms are expected tonight and tomorrow, then ten days of cooler weather and sunshine.

Ladyhawk was coming here tomorrow from Kentucky but has to postpone until Friday. Siding blew off her house, pasture fencing blew down and she found her mare across the street and a coop window was smashed. So, she's doing repairs before she can take off for Georgia. Her neighbor lost hundreds of feet of fencing and he's looking for his cows today.

Can you seperate your blue and splash chickens from the black for a bit? Or take the black boys out? That will greatly increase your chances. Splash is my favorite too!
