Stella's Social Club

Soo very sorry. Family at our age seems to be leaving fast. I miss them so much. May your heart be filled with joyful memmories.

Speckled Hen - your FIL was a nice looking man - and oh, how I love men in uniform. My dad served in WW2 and the Korean War - he passed at 90. But, he mostly talked about being stationed at Ft.Nelson (Alaska - I believe) when they had to build a runway for planes. Most of the things he said can't be repeated

We come from two families with a history of military service. My biological father was a Marine and was executed by one of Castro's firing squads in Cuba at the age of 25. My adoptive father was in the Navy, my adoptive mother was a Marine, my husband retired from the Air Force, but served in the GA Air National Guard before that. My BIL was in the Navy for a short time. Anyway, he lived a long life, longer than my BIL will, I know.

My Marine mama. Don't you just love these old photographs?

Old pictures were kinder to us. They did not show as many imperfections. I found a picture of my family when I was 11 on facebook. It brings back sweet memories.

Love the old pictures!

I spent the morning at the antiques street fair and brought home some treasures.

Couldn't pass this up. There will be a broody in here tomorrow!

Love this!

This is an old window with vintage mirrored glass in it. The crackling on the silver is beautiful!

Rusty, crusty food photography props!

The matching rooster to the hen I bought! He's a little worn but cute. She doesn't seem impressed.

And my best find of the day! A solid brass candlestick phone from 1910 retrofitted to work! I have been looking for one for my foyer since we bought the house.
