You were close Ron, it is apparently in the mint family. Common Horehound:

It's not mint. It's mildly prickly on the leaves.

Yank it and get all the roots then. You may need to yank it several times but it will die off eventually.

I do not use roundup--weeds are better gotten rid of via cultivation.

No roundup here. Though I do contemplate it for the blackberry that keeps trying to come up in my garden. (Thanks birds)
