Stella's Social Club

The fires are just devastating with entire towns lost. The smoke is so thick. Our throats are raw and breathing is tough. Luckily the temp is down 20 degrees from two days ago and we even had a few drops of rain this morning. I hope the change in the weather helps firefighters get the upper hand. I will probably stay in and go stir crazy. At least I have my home so I can't complain when so many people lost everything!

It is terrible!

Even down here it is hard to breathe. I started having laryngitis on Friday. It is better today though.

If anything CAN go wrong, it WILL go wrong, for Mary. What's with that anyway? Good grief!

Well, I will tell ya what . . . . . I have had ENOUGH DRAMA here to last a lifetime!
As long as the sheriff or deputy keep making rounds out here, I might feel safe. We still do not have dead bolts on every single door. They will have this week though.

Honestly, is it really VERY VERY VERY cold in Alaska? Considering a move there . . . .
Just caught this. DS and his are being transferred to Ancorage after January.

Everyone: I really stopped in to ask, why of three recent del chicks I hatched one had Egyptian eye makeup? You know that little black line near the eye?

I've had broody hens and they won't break so I give them Del eggs. Those I can handle.

PS saw the article in Backyard Poultry. Very nice.

Are you hatching Kathy's new Dels?

The old dels have been crossed with so many other breeds that it would not surprise me to see odd things pop up.

Also, you may have had either a fence jumper or you may have not waited the required 40 ish days to make sure an older rooster was not a contributer.

No there is no way for a fence jumper. I've seen this before. What I've got are some of Kathy's and some of my line and some of another breeders in the mix. I've not separated the lines. Though I do have them banded. It only shows while they are chicks. As adults you don't see it.

Guess what! I just got my ears pierced!!!! The earrings got look like little butterflys!
Congratulations.

I hatched a bunch of Kathy's line last year for Kim. I do not remember any with eye liner.

Maybe @kathyinmo will jump in and help.
