Stella's Social Club

My best night of sleep last night (other than the night at the Marriott suite). I got it down now. DOWN, get it? hahaha

This all goes on top of my (hard as sleeping on concrete) $1,500 mattress (listed at $5,000 but on sale). That, we bought last year, and I hate it. I sleep on the couch more than that bed!

First a "mattress topper." I don't know why, but they say, "it is essential."

Next is the FOAM. Memory foam, that is. This is what made the difference for me. I got it at Walmart instead of Marriott.
Next, on top, is the featherbed. A nice one, not a cheap one.

Oh yeah, THEN, you must dress it out . . . . .
Sheets - Impressions by Luxor, 1500 Thread Count Premium Egyptian Cotton, Single Ply.
Feather and down pillows. I must add that I like the pillows (down alternative, they are called) from Walmart better than the super expensive down pillow from Marriott.
Down blanket. I love it. However, I wonder if I would have loved the "down alternative" one equally as well. In the picture it even looks "fluffier," and is only $200. rather than the $300. for the down.

Note: I had heard of these sheets before, so I ordered some. The list price is nearly $300 for a king size set. . . . BUT, sale price only $75. (only on white only). Well, the company that shipped them sent me IVORY colored "nile" brand sheets. I immediately wrote them, and they refunded my money and I got to keep the sheets. They are ok, but just not what I ordered.

Oh yeah, I also splurged and bought a new robe.

You know, one of those cheap, fake looking furry kind. Cheap, at Walmart. (and the fur fuzz falls out in your hand if you "pet" it too much).

What I really want is a really nice BIG chenille long robe (with pockets).

Sounds like you are going for maximum comfort Kathy!

I love down pillows and comforters. I was given this expensive memory foam pillow. OMG the thing is a brick! You could seriously kill someone with it.

Yes, I am going for maximum comfort! I shall spend my golden years in comfort ... errrrr, sleeping in comfort I mean.

Your comment (brick) reminded me of something. . . .
The water here is VERY hard. I was complaining that we were out of salt for the water softener and someone said, "yeah I know, I chipped a tooth when I got a drink."

Thanks all for the kind comments. I was amused by the lack of comments for the pantry door.

Y'all will change your tune when it all gets put together. I hope,
I said I loved the pantry door! Way back when you first posted the pic! Old doors are my thing. I think it's going to be great.
I think my door thing dates back to my childhood when we lived in an old Victorian farmhouse with 10 foot ceilings and massive thick doors for every room. I grew up there but at the end of the '60's we had to move because the property was sold - to a developer, who promptly took out all those beautiful doors, piled them up and burned them! That was the era when everything old was bad and crappy "modern" was in. Later in life, I worked for a man who collected pieces of old houses and barns - he called them "artifacts" - and would use them to create gorgeous new houses that looked like they were 200 years old.

I am glad that the pantry door is getting a little love. The antique grocery store advertisement/door pull should be here by Wednesday. Who is old enough to remember these? Show of hands:

Mary, did you get that incredible thunderstorm last night? There was a lot of lightening, and thankfully rain with it (so no fires would start). I sat on my front porch (covered) watching it roll through.

I did! I was out taking pics just before midnight. You could really see the bolts of lighting down in the valley. I didn't catch any actual bolts, just the sky lighting up. I was a little creeped out because I could hear something rustling in the leaves just off the deck. I stayed out about 20 minutes then headed back to the cramped safety of the motorhome!

OH I am so jealous! I have been sleeping on the underside of a motorhome sofa that flips out into a bed with a cardboard mattress. For the better part of three months! I want it all, even the robe but I would prefer the chenille too. In pink.
