I like it! I like it! Yes, I do!
Me too, it looks beautiful!

Today was his worst day yet. He is in so much pain. He lays in the bed with his leg elevated. He is hardly eating, and is drinking very little. He refused to get up today. Yesterday we got him up for an hour, and it just wore him out. To top off all the pain, the pain pills cause constipation. Poor Mike . . . . truly suffering. Wednesday is his office appointment and they will set his surgery date. The Home Health Care nurse comes every day. It takes an hour to change all his dressings and clean the wounds.

Cylis was sick last night - puke and poop. He was better today and did eat some. Kayson is sick today. He has been coughing and is feverish. Just miserable and laying around.

THEN, our dishwasher went out today. . . .

Ugh, so much piled on you at once. I'm sorry for everything!

In football it is called piling on or diving onto a pile of players after the first one hits the ground. Time Out! Time Out! Everyone get up off Mike and Kathy!

So sorry Kathy and Mike. I sure hope he feels better soon - and the little boys too. I'm a great believer in a tablespoon of Mineral oil to help ease things through (when constipated) and it's not harsh like most laxatives. But you nurses know best. Hugs to all

If he is on any medications such as vicodin, they should have when he FIRST started taking it started him on a laxative such as senna or Dulcolax, as well as a stool softener like Miralax . Opiate medications will always cause constipation, and fiber laxatives may make things worse. When my BF had his knee surgery it took days to straighten him out, and we only found out about this issue after a helpful pharmacist helped us out. This year after his surgery I had him taking them from day 1, much better. Likely a nurse like yourself has it all in hand, though.

Hope things are better soon :hugs

He has been taking dulcolax, 2 daily. That just is not enough. We also have some Miralax. He is suffering so much. Tyler, our son, took him to Joplin for his 10AM appointment today. The forecast is 40MPH winds and 20% chance of storms. I sure hope they schedule his surgery immediately! The sooner the better. He has never been one to take medications or drugs, and he is eating these percocet like crazy.

I have to go to town and run errands. I need to get a new dishwasher, for one thing. That is a priority. Bank business, post office, Walmart, and paint store after that. Dragging the boys along is always entertaining, too. It never fails - walk into a store and, "I have to go to the bathroom."

Kayson's birthday is tomorrow. I ordered his cake and need to pick it up at noon tomorrow (30 miles away). No party, just some cake and ice cream.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Good grief Kathy! I am tired just reading your post! Hoping for the best at Mike's appointment. Once he gets the surgery done he can move on to the healing part without external hardware.

Happy birthday to Kayson!
