WEEK 11 Landscape: Reflection Find a way to show your landscape/natural beauty in reflection. The mirror world revealed.
I took a drive by myself today. I ended up 70 miles up the summit at Donner Lake. I took this picture alongside the road in a snow run-off puddle.

Wow, stunning picture. Did you have to lay down to get it?

I agree Mary - no one coming to your home. When I was young(er) like early 20's. I was breeding Cockers and people would come to the house to buy them. Usually my parents were home. But one person came in the late afternoon and wouldn't leave. He was a customer's son. She had described him as blond and blue eyes and wonderful guy.
That's mom's for you. I was home alone. As soon as he arrived he made me cringe. Said he had seen my boyfriend at the dog show and told him I was 'his' girlfriend now. I had never met him in my life. Then he said he had found a dead skunk on the road.

. He had driven from Michigan to Illinois to see the puppy (too young to sell)

He started telling me more about himself than I ever wanted to know. He had just gotten out of prison for cutting another man with a knife. He had been married and his wife got an order of protection against him. More and more bad stuff, I was trying my best not to look alarmed. He had come to see the new puppy his mom was buying . Puppies were upstairs in my bedroom - it was well past their feeding time. I knew if I went up, he would follow me and THAT was not gonna happen.

I changed the subject and talked about everything else I could think of. I had a couple phone calls but, was unable to convey my predicament because he was sitting right across from me at the kitchen table. I can't remember how I got him to leave but was a basket case inside - while still trying to look nonchalant. I'm sure I could have won an Oscar for my performance.

Anyway he finally left. I locked the door and just lost it, I was crying and pacing like a maniac, heart palpitations, they whole works. My parents finally came home and I told them what had happened. My father was so concerned he walked past me to go watch TV shows. My mom didn't pay any attention. She probably would have said he was a nice guy.

That was the last time I had any stranger come over, when I was alone.

The next day I found out my boyfriend had freaked out - he found a dead skunk stuffed in his mailbox. I didn't say a thing.

DON'T do it Mary. Nowadays if someone is home they tie everybody up and worse. Tucker is a great watch dog but, I doubt he would scare anyone off. I had several cockers in the kennel and they would have been thrilled to welcome anyone. I decided I wanted a Doberman female(to be named "Bloody Mary," no joke. Parents wouldn't allow it.
How horrifying!

Yep that how my parents treated me throughout my life. They may have treated my older sister and younger brother that way too. I don't remember because I was so busy falling apart all the time .
