Stella's Social Club

I remember the first time I was up close and personal with a baby goat. It was running around inside the feed store when we first moved here, up and down the shelves, etc. Cutest thing I ever saw. My friend, Kate, who used to live here and now in Indiana, raises really super goat stock. http://www.helmsteadstables.com/Goats.htm Wins a lot at shows.

Love the shop, Mary. It's missing QUILTS! You just need one of my hand quilted table runners up there on that table, woman! HA! LOL. Like this Americana one:

An antique shop bought one of my log cabin pattern hand quilted fall table runners from our Etsy shop to re-sell at a quilt show. At first I thought maybe they wanted it for as shop display, then I saw the ad for the Amish and other hand quilted items at the upcoming quilt show they were participating in and said to myself, "well, duh!". They probably tripled the price on it.

This is the one they bought for resale. I do prefer a fine hand quilting like this one to machine quilting, the look of it. The pain of it, well, that's another matter. Ouch.

I have others that t I think would look nice on your table, but some are machine quilted, some hand quilted. My carpal tunnel has made it harder to hand quilt anything lately-I know you, Mary, can relate to stuff like that, but dang, lady, you sure keep on trucking and so shall I!

Lovely! My mother does lots of quilting, I know how much work goes into to really appreciate it.

Really good idea Cyn, definitely a runner with Ike and the boys on it! You do lovely work.
Thanks, I do love that fabric. Even made this Kindle cover with it. Three of those looked so much like Isaac, Rex and Deacon that I wondered who was spying on my flocks!

Thanks!

Finally took the butcher paper off the windows after putting up blinds tonight! Can't wait to get those ugly street numbers down next!

When is the grand opening???? It's looking fabulous!

I've been wearing myself ragged the last few days getting ready for today's storms. They are supposed to hit about 6 PM. 60% chance of tornadoes in our area so lots of wind is guaranteed, and hail is likely. Yesterday we finished the first section of the new pasture fence, weeded the garden and watered the youngest seedlings and plants, cleaned up the yard (we've been spring cleaning the shed and well house and it was a MESS), and mowed and weed eated. I woke up stiff and sore this morning.

This morning the kids wanted to get up early to help me thin the carrots. They love to wash and eat the little fingerlings. :) Also started milking Emily in the mornings, her baby is 2 1/2 weeks old. Milk tastes better this year! We sprayed and planted the goat pasture last year and it definitely made a difference.

Goat babies are growing good. I will get videos tomorrow or Thursday after this storm system moves through. Still got things to finish up out there today before the storms hit. I'll be back tomorrow, if we don't blow away! Still haven't fixed the storm shelter door (it's been boarded up since we moved in), so we'll be sheltering in place. We did move a bench out from under the maple tree in case a branch goes down.

I'll take earthquakes any day of the week.

Stay safe Rinda! And make sure you have weights on your beehives! Glad all of the goat babies are doing well!

Good call. I'll mention that to hubby when he returns from the feed store.

A friend posted this on Facebook. Tickled my funny bone. Maybe we should play this while we are glued to the weather stations tonight. ;)
