That is a shame. Hopefully you can find a way to continue. While suiting up may be a pain, you may still be able to keep them without too much risk. Predosing with Benedryl about a half hour before handling them might also be a good idea. After all, they are not the only bees around, and your risk is largest when you are out working on your hives, and not much otherwise.

I am out of the bee business too, but that is because they swarm every time I get a hive going, they just do not want to be around my place I guess.

Yep time to keep an epipen onhand- just in case. And remember after using an epi pen you are supposed to drive directly to the hospital.

The standard suits are pretty hot. The new ventilated type are not too bad. That's what we use. I don't mind them much, but I'm naturally pretty cold blooded. My husband still sweats like a pig in his. But he's always hot anyway LOL.

They use 3 layers of mesh, enough depth in the thicker inner mesh that the bees can't sting through it. Neither of us have ever been stung through our suits. Through our jeans though yes!

Scary stuff Kelly. Glad you are seeing your doctor. I would hate for you to have to give up beekeeping but the reaction may increase over time making it really dangerous for you. I will be anxiously awaiting what the doctor says. Hope you feel better today. Eat something if you can and stay hydrated.

I'd like to see the steamer trunk when your done, please.
Here ya go! I decoupaged prints of old posters from a tapestry manufacturer on the top and faux painted the trunk. It was in pretty bad shape and I am not good at trunk restoration. I settled for just making it decorative.

I painted this handmade slant front desk last night and staged it in my hallway. I went for a really primitive look since it is handmade. Now I like it there and want to keep it. Always happens!

Gotta go, off to pick up furniture. My new line of paint is on the UPS truck and out for delivery! I will be selling FUSION mineral paint, made in Canada. Took two weeks to get here because of customs. I can't wait! I couldn't even paint the shelf I made to hold the paints because they want the display to be in a FUSION color! I made a shelf out of a full-size headboard. Pardon if I already posted this picture. Cant wait to get it painted!
