Kathy, Sitting out in the chicken yard and just watching the youngsters go about their daily routine is one of my favorite things to do.
I haven't gotten the leg bands on the NHs yet, but there are a couple who have made themselves stand out from the rest and I can tell them apart from all the others.
The Icelandic pullets are now "worried" by only one Icelandic juvie (Falki) and the Blue Isbar cockerel I hatched from the eggs I got from Mary for Mahonri's Easter Hatchalong. I have a home for him but she's rearranging her housing and pens so he'll be here for a bit longer.
Asta hatched her brood and it's a mixed bag! Two Welsummers and a Blue Ameraucana from Jim (that is a 100% hatch on shipped chicken eggs), one Icelandic (Elska egg) and two silkies(had 4 of 6 shipped eggs hatch but one was dead in the nest and another looked not so good today when I was home at lunch)! I'll post some pics when I get back in from evening chores.
