So now all my chicks are 4 weeks. Last time I posted I got nothing that really gave me a reason why (when they were 3 weeks). This one particular chick isn’t really getting any new feathers, or growing at all. I don’t know if I should be worried? Here are pictures (I don’t know what breed he/she is either, we got her/him when we went meaning to pick up two assorted bantams and she was gunna be alone so they told us to take her free. The ones we got her with are the smaller brown ones, they’re feathering much quicker and also have grown a fair bit since we got them. It’s the tiny, light colored one.

She's most likely a failure to thrive chick (FTT). They hatch with underdeveloped organs and digestive systems so they don't efficiently process calories and nutrients. At this point she will probably never catch up. She may die in a few weeks or live to a year old. Often if they survive, their small size makes them ripe to be picked off by predators of every kind, even pet cats.

You can try special feedings of tofu and boiled egg with Poultry Nutri-drench drizzled over it once a day, but it may be too late.

She sure is adorable, though. That really makes it heart breaking.

thank you. Though I hope this isn’t the case, nothing else explains why she is so tiny at a month old. I’m going to try my best to help her out.

We have a chick in a similar situation to yours. She is now six weeks old and is just now developing her tail feathers. All of our chicks are the same age and we have kept them together the whole time. We were afraid to let her outside with the rest but she has been great outside! As long as the other chicks do no bully her to the point of injury or harm I would say she could just be at the end of the pecking order like ours. I’m attaching pictures and if anyone thinks differently I would love to know!
