Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

Thanks for the links! I contacted the head of the group for the facebook group! I tried writing on the wall, but it wouldn't work. I'm wondering if I have to get approval to write on the wall or something?

I can narrow it down to two members for each county from the second list that you posted. Rogers County is district 8 and 12. Cheokee County is district 4 and 14. Couldn't hurt to e-mail both of them, one of them has to be the right person.

I finally received an email back from NetPosse.

Unfortunately, because there was an agreement in place, authorities will treat it as CIVIL and there is nothing they can legally do.

I think you have two options.

1) Since you live in Oklahoma, you might have protection through the brand inspectors. Because the horse was SOLD it is very possible that the brand inspector could help you reclaim the horse without going through court, but I'm not sure of the exact laws or their authority.

2) Contact an attorney and see about filing a law suit or at least an injunction. If you know his location, you need to prohibit the uncle from being able to legally sell him before you can get this sorted out.
Please realize that our mission is to FIND stolen/missing horses, whereas, it sounds as if you know your horse's location. We cannot do anything legally to help get the horse back. Normally, in these situations, we work to find the horse then that person has a better chance of receiving ownership of the horse in a court of law.

We will still be glad to list Max as it might help strengthen your credibility because many recognize our organization's integrity. If you want to file, please go to www.netposse.com/forms/index.htm and file the MISSING - CIVIL report so that we can get your case online.

I truly wish you the best of luck, and we look forward to helping if we can.

Sincerely,
Angela

Wow I can not believe this is still going on. I just got an email alert/update today. I have been busy with family stuff lately. I have a Repo man who is quite fond of me. Do you want me to see if I can find you some tough guys? He may know through the grapevine of someone who can help.

I guess I have to go through small claims. No lawyers have contacted me, no TV stations will take my story...I'm at a loss. So, I'm going to be writing into the newspapers to see if someone will take on the story. If not...that's it. On Friday, I am filling out the paperwork for small claims.

In OK, "heresay" is not allowed unless it can be cross-examined and proven. I've got phone calls on documented proof, photos of the day I last saw my horse, payment for the teeth floating, photos, the lease agreement and registration papers.

I don't know what they could possibly have. I can also request to have a jury but will have to pay the fee.

I mean...what would YOU do?

That's a dangerous question... I would do pretty much anything to get one of my animals back, including a late night visit. If you have enough to win the battle in court, then go that route - it's a lot safer for every body.

Well I think I already said it, I would go get my horse. I had a pretty good (or bad) feeling you wouldn't be able to get any help. I hope you can atleast get someone to help w/ the repo. I would if I was alittle closer, all you should really need is someone to get the horse and a get away driver-lookout. And I'd go armed, just in case.
