Maybe people on this board need to start an email campaign to KJRH and the local district attorney about this injustice. Does your local DA have an email address? Just to let them know 35,000 folks are aware of the unfairness and lack of support from the legal system you are experiencing.

Maybe the local DA and the KJRH news folks need to read this thread.

Unbelievable. Just when you think things can't get worse. I am really worried about what the Uncle is going to do to your horse!

I wonder if it's legal to take out a half page ad in the Sunday paper and just rip this guy. Probably not... he'd retaliate and somehow get it turned around on you.

Forgive me if you already mentioned this... but have you gotten the game warden involved? That's probably an oddball question, but our game warden always gets involved in stuff like this - it's amazing how much authority they have compared to the deputies. I'm not sure if it's apples to apples in other states though.

We also have a local news channel that has a segment "Call 12 On Your Side"... and you tell them what's going on and (if it's juicy enough news) they usually lay the hammer on someone and people start scrambling to get results. It's pretty amazing. Even our local power co-op has a quarterly magazine that has a similar section. I wonder how many groups like this might be around in your area?

Have you thought of writing a detailed letter about your plight and carbon copying your county commissioner, sherriff's ofc, town police, state senator, etc??? Whenever I write a letter to our state senator, he always gets the job done, but maybe that's because the letter is coming from a law office. So, I really hope and pray that you'll be able to obtain another attorney.

You are going to get your horse back! And when it's all said and done, this will make a heck of a story and you will get a book written about you and your ordeal.

I think a letter-writing campaign by BYC is a great idea. The sqeaky wheel gets the grease. Just let me know who to write/email. We are behind you all the way!!

I agree, I had a problem with my mail lady tossing my eggs out of the window, and all my friends here on BYC contacted the main Postal Office and put in complaints, etc. It helped me out alot and definitely got the point across. Now the POSTMASTER has to hand deliver my packages. LOL...

Let us know who to contact and I know it will make a difference.

I called the Channel 2 thing last night. He said he would get a reporter on it to see if they could get any phone calls to go through.

I called the 2222 number last night...I'm hoping something happens. They're supposed to call me back today or tomorrow, but at this point, I'm not holding out much hope.

I hadn't thought about writing the letter, I may just try that.

ROPO you need to find out if the civil court will order the return of the horse or only reward the monetary value of the horse. I think different states have different laws on that. I still think the best suggestion was the repossession.

OK, I just emailed Problem Solvers the address for this thread and requested they look into your situation. If they call I don't have any of RoPo's personal info but told them I could get a number for them if they were interested. I suggest you folks do the same.

Can anybody come up with the State Representative's, county commissioner and the pertinent district attorney's email?
I'm going to look up some of horsejody's letters.
