That's my concern as well, Jody.. If they determine the sale of the horse to have been a simple "misunderstanding" on the lessee's part, then ordering the horse back would, in a certain sick and twisted way, make a "victim" out of the uncle by taking property that he could argue was purchased in good faith with good money.

If that's the case, the uncle WILL be paying the $5,000 that he told me to pay in order to see my horse again. As for the trailer, yes and no. The DA's office doesn't think that I will be able to get my horse that day, but the day after or something along those lines. So I'm not taking a trailer to the courthouse, my aunt's is HUGE and I don't know how to drive a standard truck with a trailer. It'd be a disaster waiting to happen.

Hello, i just got back on the forum after several months and saw this post. I really hope you get him back. I go to a stable and ride there horses in lessons and have leased one before and even though they arent mine if one was ever stolen id look everywhere in the world to find it no matter how long it took. I'll pray that you win him back.

I would have that truck/trailer setting right out side the court house just to show you are intnet on getting your horse and prepared to move it on a moments notice.

It might be a really big psych out for him to see it sitting in the lot....

But there's no way I can get a trailer there. I do not trust myself to drive a stick-shift and my friend wound up having to work tomorrow. I could probably have them deliver Max to my somewhere because of the term "return" in the contract. But, heck, I'd just ride him home if I needed to!
