Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

When they say I've had a chance to voice my concerns, at that point, the only thing I had been able to do was make comments on the website.

They have since contacted me via email. I thanked them but told them I need to wait for the verdict. Then I would be more than happy to give my side of the story.

I don't want yet another stalling on the case. I feel awful for the family...facing this nerve-rattling thing and then to lose a family member. I do feel for the family and if they had given me the death as a reason for the stalling of the case, I would have understood. Nobody gave me a reason other than the judge stating she would be reading the transcripts. I would send a sympathy card, but I have a feeling it would not be received very well at all.

You still could just sign it anonymous. That way the true gesture is there without them possibly seeing it as sarcastic or negative. I doubt they'd be nasty enough to go out intentionally trying to see if you sent it.

Do we know why this case was delayed once again?

This is my comment left yesterday with the Daily Press. What I realize this morning is this was the theft hearing which won't get Max back.

RoPo - when is the ownership hearing scheduled for?

And who is responsible for making sure everything is in order for the hearings to move forward? I come from a medical background with no legal experience. In the medical field, if a patient is scheduled for surgery, it is the physicians office's responsibility to make sure everything's in order such as history & physical, lab work, cardiac clearance, etc. prior to a surgery taking place at the hospital. Is it the DA office's responsibility to ensure everything is in order for a hearing to take place?

Why didn't the theft hearing take place on 3/31/10? Did the DA not communicate to the 3rd judge that the hearing needed to take place because there wasn't transcripts from all the previous hearings for her to go off the transcripts only? Who's responsibility was it to ensure there was someone present at the hearing to transcribe? If I recall, RoPo had an attorney present with her at that hearing and he didn't notice that there wasn't someone there to transcribe.

RoPo - I don't think it would hurt anything for you to place a comment stating the facts that you leased Max in January 09 for a period of 6 months. Payment stopped after 3 months. You tried to contact the guy and discovered he moved with Max which was against the lease agreement, changed his phone number. You did not change your phone number indicated on the lease agreement.

The locals don't know your side of the story, so from their point of view you are an outsider with lots of supporters calling their town names.

Oh, I see. I didn't realize there was a death in the family. This thread moves faster than the Mississippi in May. I think you're doing the right thing. Actually, looks good that all of us got to vent on your behalf without you stating anything negative

Ok one more time and I won't say anything else tonight. I don't think it's doing more harm than good. I think it's bringing attention to the matter. BUT that's just M.O. I wish we could get someone higher up to help.

I agree it's bringing attention, but harassing/insulting the newspaper staff is only going to undermine the credibility of those who support RoPo.

I'm not saying we have to harass or insult, but I do think that some credible phone calls like mentioned by someone else AND a few angry ones without cussing or anything, would be more along the lines of what would be workable. I'm sure RoPo has already tried the "sugar" bit, but I don't think these people listen to "sugar". Any of them, not just this paper.

Well, this is, in part, what made me think of YouTube. No one is going to see *that* laying open on a bench somewhere, and you would be in control of whatever content you did or did not want out there. You could put anything in there you think is helpful or important to know. It's a thought. I'm grasping for straws here because what has happened so far has not gotten you anywhere.

Several people hit reply all. I dont think anyone sees that as an issue. It is just a small error. Everyone email address was out at that point anyway.

I do think that when we all had to give an email address to comment there was an assumption that a news organization would respect the privacy of that information. Do I mind that many of yall got my email address? No. But I do mind that it was thrown out there so disrespectfully. My Email address is just like my home address an my phone number. Its my choice who I give that information to. I chose to be public with that information. But no one else has the right to also be public with my information.

Do I think we are making things worse? No. This has got to the point that the only thing that will work is to throw a wrench in to the machine an watch the parts fly. That way everything gets looked at out in the open. No bandaging what can bee seen an letting it go.

That's the way I see it on both counts.
