Whelp...whoever made bets for postponement, please collect your winnings at the gate.
The judge was forced to postpone (notice the word FORCED) because the uncle's attorney said she would not let this rest if she was not there to argue her client's case. The lawyer wasn't able to show because she was in another courtroom elsewhere. So...making the judge VERY angry apparently does have it's drawbacks on him...the judge actually told the DA to apologize to me on her behalf since I wasn't in the courtroom when this entire ordeal took place. I was sitting outside on the (very hard) benches.
The new date is set for May 13 at 1:30 PM. The judge said that if she could have gone ahead today, she would have, but since he was making such a big stink over his attorney being there...he "claimed" it was because he didn't know the ownership hearing was today, so it would be "lack of notice". Ridiculous...
Anyway, the DA explained I'm welcome to bring my own attorney, but offered up his services as my attorney since I am still a victim of the criminal case.
