Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

My god, so sorry to hear that, I was crossing everything on my body in hopes that this would be finished. If I was the judge I would have told him tough luck and that he had to know that the ownership hearing was likely considering how many times it was going to happen before, sheesh.

Better get an attorney this time, it has gone on too long and his lawyers will be betting to keep it delayed as long as possible. It's behooving to me that the lawyer is elsewhere and the court does not know that until they got together in a session.

At least the judge is NOT happy the way it turns out.

Not collecting the bets at the winning gates, just putting more money on the next one.

It sounds like this judge is doing the right thing and trying to make sure the i's are dotted and t's are crossed so that once the decision is made and you have Max back that will be the end of it.

Ok not too bad of a day. I was praying that you would get Max back today, but things are slowly moving in your favor.
Instead of a month the next court day is only 14 days away. The uncle can only postpone it for so long and the judge is already ticked at him. Ropo you will get Max back.

Sorry that it wasn't completely resolved today for you RoPo. At least that little turd you leased Max to didn't get off scott free. It'd be nice if the uncle could join his worthless nephew on the weekends. I have a good feeling in your favor since they are only continuing it for about 2 weeks, not two months or more. If you can afford to, I'd use some of that money that was awarded (although I don't suspect that you were paid today) and use it for an attorney if you could. The bad thing about a monetary judgment in your favor is you still have to collect on it. That can get drawn out for a long time if the courts didn't force him to pay up right then and there, upon walking out of the courthouse. Then you'll have to go after him with garnishments, etc..

If you can bring every tidbit of evidence that the uncle is aware, has been aware, that the horse came to him through illegal means, bring ALL of that stuff to court with you to the next hearing. Anything you can show that is proof that he was aware that the horse was under a contractual lease will greatly help disprove any claim he has on the horse. Really, the uncle's case is against the nephew, not against you. Let him sue his worthless nephew to recoup any money he paid for the horse, but Max should be returned to you, no questions asked.

ROPO, I think it's great that the DA is willing to help you out; it sounds like you you may finally have an attorney!
