Good Luck tomorrow. Sorry this has gone on far too long. I can't believe the uncle isn't in sitting in jail since he knew about the stolen horse and tried to cover it up.

Be very thorough with your exam of Max. People have been known to tap nails and stones into the hoof and frog to lame the horse as time goes on. Some have put marbles into the uterus of mares so they wouldn't conceive. Irritants can be put into eyes and up nostrils. Pieces of glass have been embeded in the gums. Hopefully all will be well, but I sure wouldn't trust that idiot who has him.
