Good luck!

That's a lot of meat. You must have a nearly empty freezer. How much meat do you get off a goat?
These are small goats. (Deliberately so). If the one I'm taking today weighs 125#, it will be about a 55# carcass after processing (hide and that monster stomach both wiegh a lot - as does the incredible amount of abdominal fat they make from green growing things). And from that, maybe 37# of meat.

Yield isn't great, but they are easy to feed.

I have never shot an animal except at very close or contact range. Some day I will go hunting.

Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) is in our local deer population, unfortunately. I'm not sure if that means the meat is unsafe to eat; I haven't looked it up, since I'm not going hunting.

I did, however, just knit myself a hunter's orange hat. So I got that going for me, which is nice. (Sorry, couldn't resist the movie quote...)

I'm wearing a long sleeve shirt of that violent "yellow/green" safety color (you know, the one that looks like its battery powered?) - so the neighbors don't get the wrong idea.

It's a prion disease, so personally I wouldn't risk it. Don't know if it's technically safe though.
