Stormcrow's Hobby Farm

Unfortunately, all of the recent hatches with the right coloring seem to be of the male half. But yes, there are keepers here - and if I do have three - four good looking makes from the last three hatches, and no similar females, I'm going to be 60 kinds of pissed off. But this was never expected to be a quick project.

12 more in the incubator, one week down, two weeks to go.

Not a great picture, these are the five from not last hatch, but the hatch prior.

This HAD been a bed full of clover, btw. They utterly destroyed it, with a few of the older birds. Took less than 24 hours.
Boy do I know that power

You've made real progress. You are getting there!
Oh, I'm stubborn, the birds will get there in spite of their best efforts. :) But I am looking forward to the day when I can start selecting for size. Two more years? Three?

You mentioned adding new blood soon. Select something for size as well as color.
I've studied many comments on the site from breeders. One thing I've noticed regardless of breed, they all say build your house first then paint it.

Suffering in the heat., I added a fan (I know, I said I wouldn't). Need to add a second. Or perforated walls.

My wife's well meaning advice created a dead air pocket.

Happy wife, happy life - but in this case, unhappy bunnies.

Happy wife, happy life
And nobody ever says the flip side -- happy hubby, happy life. Why?? Because it doesn't rhyme? SMH. Just as true, IMO. Yeah, yeah, not politically correct, blah, blah, blah. Happy people get along better!

Clomp, clomp. Getting down off soapbox.
