Looks like we are getting a (tiny) tractor for the new year.

Anyone have experience with TYM? We are pretty well sold on a TYM/Branson 2515H, having looked at the equivalent Deere, Mahindra, and Kubota. Kubota would be my second choice, the difference is largely price.

and yes, for a small change in price, I could get a bigger tractor - but I'm trying to avoid the emissions requirements of the bigger HP tractors, and there are reasons why a small tractor is ultimately a better fit for what we will mostly need. Mostly maneuverability / space between things I can't move - like established plantings.

We looked at the next size down - glorified lawnmowers, not enough power, though in some ways nicer - and the next size up, like a 3025 (Kubota) and a 3515 - but the maintenance costs with the additional diesel emissions and potential repair expense are a big scare.

Do you have to get them tested/certified/whatever on a regular basis?
No - above 25 hp has additional equipment for emissions reasons, and at sufficient HP requires DEF - Diesel Emissions Fluid to help burn off contaminants in the diesel particulate filter, which requires injectors to spray it into very hot exhaust. and extra sensors, and a storage tank for the def fluid and and and and...

Tractor should make quit work of it and save your back.

You should do before and after photos to show off your landscaping abilities.

When we first bought this land it had last been a corn field. We had to borrow a tractor from BIL to put in a driveway. Of course we had an unusual amount of rain. Driveway is long.

Have I mentioned we always seem to choose the 'hard way'.
