At that range? Yeah. Even w/o the scope at that distance I could have hit in the right area.

But I have too many blackberry bushes to claim that it eating them constituted a "nuisance". They aren't in season right now. and if the Game Warden claimed I had set out much of an acre of wild blueberries to attract the deer... he wouldn't be entirely wrong.
I used to get depredation permits for my blueberries that let me deer hunt 24/7 year-round. But I found that beyond letting me use an air rifle in bow season, it offered me little advantage. The terms of the permit forbid baiting, and baiting
makes all the difference once the season starts and the surrounding woods are full of feeders.

Have not heard them in months.

Lost another bird in the last 12 hours. Several piles of feathers. Whatever it was had to drag a 4# +/- hen, couldn't carry it. I found the initial attack site in the pasture, another puff of feathers in the pasture, a third as it hit the tree line, lose the trail, find it again, 4th pile of feathers deeper in the tree line, lost the trail again. Sand is dry enough that the drag line is clear - but the footprints are indistinct. Once it gets under the trees, its not disturbing the large dried leaves enough that I can track it.

For the record, I make no claim to being even a barely competent tracker.

Dragged the bird a good 150' so far.

Any bobcat sign around? (Sounds like one).
