How long did the scalding and plucking take?

1 hour to scald, pluck, and part out. Using water from the shower - its not hot enough, takes (much) longer. another hour to clean the outdoor shower, before and after.

We'll do something different for my parents, but the wife and I? There's easy 10 meals here, plus leftovers for the next day's lunch. Big Bird will be remembered fondly.

To clarify, "what do you want for dinner?" is basically the family love language, and we take some (justified, I think) pride in setting out a spread of simple food we cooked ourselves, prepared really well.

More so, when its the ingredients are also the product of our own labor.

Thinking of you as the latest hurricane approaches Florida.

Thinking of friends and family. I'm expecting no rain for 10 days, its a 6 hour drive (almost) to the north side of the cone of projected landfall. a 7 hour drive to likely landfall.

We are having the best weather we've had this year.

Florida is a strange state. and big. Bigger than it gets credit for.

350 miles east to west, 450 miles north to south. (roughly)
