Stormcrow's Hobby Farm

Still can't find dead freezers for feed storage - have one of the local used/recycled appliance delaers looking for me. Had a nice anniversary dinner with my wife. Built a two story "stand" for the goats to play on, hang my rifle target underneath. Need one more set of 20 rounds and I should be dialed in enough to take another goat.

Hours at Lowe's today (aparently they won't help you load anymore) - getting ready to start the first 12' section of a green house on the side of the barn. The barn didn't end up square and true (don't ask - 4 years later, still not sure how we messed up so badly) so not real sure how I'm going to build it - but I have enough lumber on hand I can mock something up and see what works. Probably going to a 1:12 pitch so we keep some headroom. Wife wants to transplant some bananas there permanently.

Once I have a working prototype, I'll repeat two times more, run a 36' greenhouse - looks like it will be about 14' wide - down the side of the barn. Then I'll move in the IBC totes, start working on the aquaponics.

and looping back to the start, Lowes had no 3' wide roofing sheet metal for building a feed locker - the 2' wide stuff isn't tall enough for a bag to sit upright - so the feed locker move is still on hold - but the pantry where the feed locker is currently located was cleaned, and cleaner, and cleaned some more.

Oh, fresh loaf of sourdough out of the oven, saved bones are making soup for tommorow night, and there's a cheesecake cooling.

Its been a good weekend.

Oh, and the inspector doesn't know I ran power to the barn. Shhhh, dont tell. Maybe I should hide a small hot tub in the greenhouse? Its already going to be crazy humid in there...

:drool This is chocolate's only true competition for dessert, IMO.

(Sound of soft whistling as I gaze at the sky.) "Huh? What? I don't know anything. You think he bribed me with a piece of cheesecake? Noooo.... The crust isn't gluten free, so I couldn't eat it."

:) We'll likely use the fruit jam from the last jar of our rosellas.

50yd. Still a 3" pattern. :(

Oh, also replaced the sink fixture. (Replacing the cartridges wasn't doing it anymore).

:) Thank you for understanding!

Roselle. Also called Rosella. Also called all sorts of other things.

Working on framing a greenhouse. Having to deal w/ existing errors in the structure I'm tieing into. Look like its going to work. Spent all day, built the framing for my "proof of concept". Back to the lumber store tommorow to get the lumber for the next section. 12x15' right now. Going to add another 12', then maybe another 8'.

That should give all the room we ever need for our tropicals, and to experiment w/ aquaculture.

or may take that 8' back, plus the rest of the barn (another 10'???), to build a shelter for the tractor. I don't recall if I'm 42' plus overhangs, or 42' w/ overhangs.
