NightSky went to bed, and woke up the next morning and found Elinore packing her bag. NightSky questioned, "What is going on?" Elinore answered back, "I am leaving! I can not take this, I am scared!" Nightsky knew she had to do something. Then NightSky looked over and saw Peach walking toward her confused, she asked, "Eli, whats going on?" Elinore took one look at Peach and ran to the corner of the coop. Peach asked NightSky, "Whats going on?" NightSky answered under her breath, "I kinda told Elinore that, uh, you pecked, a hen, uh, named Pinky to death." "How could you!" Peach ran over to Elinore and explained everything. They marched out of the coop and didnt look back. Once NightSky came out, everyone looked at NightSky, then looked away, they were suprised that NightSky could do that, and they were angry.

If coop dynamics had been strange before, now they were purely chaotic. Peach, after her initial anger at Nightsky had passed, was taking the chaos well. Elanora, on the other hand felt like everybody was paying attention to her every move. In the meantime, Mango, Olive, and Nightsky were continually fighting for the top position. Pinky, Lander, and Sugarplum tried to remain nuetral.

Nightsky was crushed. She had just lost her position at the top of the pecking order. Either Mango or Olive was going to inherit it. Now she was down between Pinky and Sugarplum. She felt nothing could comfort her. She slippped out into the run, into the cool spring night, and flopped down in a corner. She stared absently at the chicken wire. Then she gasped. How long had that gap in the wire been there? Nightsky lept through the gap out of the run. She would run away and never come back.

in the meantime, back in the coop, Olive had become the new head hen, Mango just below her. Then came Pinky, Sugarplum, NIghtsky, Peach, and little Elanora. Mango had purposly told Olive to Put Peach lower, to try to get her to stop brooding, but Peach was not going to be stopped. Those eggs were going to hatch.

Elinore started to wonder were Nightsky was, so she put together a search group. All they found was feathers leading to the outside world! Out of the yard, and no one dared to go outside of the yard. Depressed, everyone went back to the coop. That night was cold and Elinore could not get to sleep, all she could think of was Nightsky. She was afraid that the dog may of got her. The next morning, there was a romur that another new hen was joining the flock. She heard lots of storys bout this hen, bout how she was so brave, and that she was scared. But no one could prove who she really was. All they new is that she was a weird breed called a silkie

"A silkie!!! I want Nightsky instead!!!" cried little Elanora. "It's ok she'll come back soon....... hopefully....." comforted Mango. Peach was still brooding and even more determined to hatch her eggs. Mango was sick and tired of Peach so she and Elanora were getting closer each night.

A couple days later a fluffy little thing came that made little peeps. Everyone as comfused and wondered what it was. That night the little thing sat outside like she was blind and didnt know how to get it. Elinore picked her up and carried her into the hen house. The silkie started to shiver so Elinore snuggled up with her to keep her warm. They chatted for a lil bit before bed. Elinore asked, "Hi, what is your name?" The silkie answered, "My name is Flufferfeet." She talked in the cutest sweatest voice ever! They started to get to know each other and Elinore and Flufferfeet became really good friends.

Elanora began to like Flufferfeet, so she and Mango brought her with them everywhere. They played together they ate together they had spots on the roost together, and they even searched for Nightsky together. Mango was beginning to get worried about Nightsky and the hole in the coop when one night something was scrambling through the coop.................
