We have a 9 mon old male that we thought was suckling his dew pad but when we looked closer, he twirl the hair on the inside of his paw with his nose, makes the hair stand up and sucks on it like he's nursing. he does this for about 5 min., loudly, and then falls asleep.

I like the idea of a thumb sucking cat. I had a cat with whiskers about 6 inches long on both sides of his face. His favorite way to wake me up was to stick his nose in my ear; there's no one on this planet who could sleep through that.

Our cat lets us sleep with her in the bed. As long as we turn on the electric mattress pad first.

We had a cat that slept with us every cold night. She slept in the middle so she would be nice and warm, and she stole the covers. I would wake up, tush hanging in the breeze, to find the cat in the middle with the blankets piled up all around her. Dh would be fine, because he held on to the covers. I think cats on the bed go into some sort of transdimensional mode; there is no other way to explain how a 12 pound animal can take up that much space!

That is so cute...who knows she might make a good chicken momma...stranger things have happened.

Last Spring one of my Mastiffs found a tiny baby possum in the woods and brought it home with her. She walked around for a several weeks with the little thing in her mouth...it was so tiny when she would put it down on the ground and it would try to look up at her it would fall over. It could barley hold it's little head up.

It finally got big enough to go on it's merry way and wandered off... but for a while there I was afraid we had a new pet.

I love our cat! She likes to lay in the bathroom and sleep on a towel I put out for her. The kids aren't allowed in the bathroom without an adult - yes I can tell you how far one roll of tp goes .... it covers a very large area!!!! Banned the kids after that! Back to the cat. She is safe from being bothered in the bathroom. Anyone else in the family can go and .... "read" ... ya we'll say "read" on the potty and she just lays there on the towel. But if dh goes in there she runs out and waits by the door. After he exits she waits about ten minutes and goes back in to lay on her towel! Smart cat! LOL

Sasha has a blanket that she sucks on and kneads (sp)?before bed time. She waits for me to fluff it up for her before she will find a nice hunk to put in her mouth then the kneading and purring goes on for about a half hour before she finally crawls under the covers and falls asleep. I am loving hearing all the stories about other peoples cats

We have two brother kitties, two years old. Midnight has attached himself to my husband - sometimes literally. He lays on his chest and 'nurses' on his arm! He kneads, too, but has learned to not use his claws, good thing, cuz poor hubby's arm was getting pretty scratched up for a while! Hubby is a furry man himself, I guess the cat thinks of him as a big mamma kitty!

Our Calli-cat used to nurse on DH's armpit hair

Woke him up in the middle of the night sometimes!! And since he usually only showers in the morning, its exceptionally gross! So glad she seems to have outgrown it.
She also sticks her head into our shoes from time to time. She's a weirdo.

Our other cat, Jezebel, has started licking the slats on our venetian blinds. I didn't know dust tasted good? She never used to do this, so I don't know what's going on with that.
