Hey y’all. I came across this while checking on my ladies. I have never seen poop that looked like this, so I’m a little concerned.
All the girls have passed their last physical health inspection a few days ago (healthy vents, nares, comb coloration, no signs of mites/ lice), have been laying regularly, are spunky, full of gusto, and are eating and drinking well.
Should I be concerned about this? I lost a beloved chicken 3 weeks ago from something unrelated (EYP) and am definitely wanting to get ahead of any issues that could be life threatening. I’m holding off treating with Corid until I get a second opinion, as I am not sure Coccidiosis is what’s going on. What the photo doesn’t show very very is that the droppings are coated in mucus.
Thank you for your input! I learn so much here and the sharing of knowledge is much appreciated
