Stray cat...?

Pics
Just want to add that no dog is allowed to wander the neighborhood. Why are cats?
You obviously do not live here. The dogs are always roaming our neighborhood and without tags suggesting they are even vaccinated against rabies. They hate my Wrangler as well and chase after it as I drive by. We never leave the gates unlocked as that is a good way to get a new dog or lose chicken. This is for real, I have acquired dogs like this and 1000's in vet bills because my lawn guy left the gate open.

The last one was a sweet abused looking pit bull who turned murderous after a week of regular food and antibiotics. Not towards people just our other dogs she was a huge expense due to serial surgeries required for our dogs.

I also have a heeler that adopted us and yep she wiped out our first flock. I blame those non refundable pet deposits for most of the neglected animals I see daily. I live in a very impoverished region of the country. The heeler has learned that she is meant to protect the chicken now so she is a keeper. It just sucked picking my wife up from the airport with a load of her named chicken dead on the porch. Facebook sleuthing also revealed the prior "owner" was renting her place obviously the heeler wasn't something she was willing to take with her when she moved.

If you rub your feet on the ground while the cat is watching, and maybe hiss a bit, the cat should back off and leave. Rubbing their hind legs on the ground is cat talk for "leave now, this is my territory".

We fix out cats and let them run around outside. The neighbors don't mind. Our cats aren't pampered house pets, they are tough outdoor cats who are very friendly and sweet. We let them go where they want, they own us, not the other way around.

Cats can climb and fit through almost anything. If it is wood, even strait up, they can do it. They easily climb the wood fence in our yard which is around 7 feet high.

I will try that if I see it. I didn’t know that if you did that they would go away.

Many dogs as well wonder around here, but cats are much more agile and could much more easily hurt or kill chickens. Not many other people around where we live have any sort of poultry, the people across the street from us have pony’s and a goose, but that is it. So people who have pets just think that their animal won’t cause distress or hurt anyone or anything in our neighborhood.

I was not saying it's unnatural for them to bury their poop. I was saying having them roam around outside was unnatural seeing as how they are an INVASIVE species. But clearly, you don't care what other people have to say, so now I'm done with this thread. I can't handle rude, unreasonable, selfish people.
I'm rude, selfish, and unreasonable because I don't shoot the cats or dogs that wander into my yard? It's sad that you do not realize how rude, selfish, unreasonable, and IGNORANT that is.

I do like TNR I wish it was offered in my locality.
I own traps and pay for surgery myself. It’s the right thing to do rather than having more unwanted kittens born. I trapped one in heat cat in February when I saw an unknown Tom watching her rolling around out by my shed. Paid to board her 10 days because of the weather. She tamed down enough I made her a house at and she only ever got out again inside a fence.

My pen isn't secure against predators or cats, but I have the most evil cat in the world. This morning we had to toss 2 dead rats over the fence, one of the dogs found a third I don't even want to know more about that.

Don't even get me started on the size of possums or bunnies he takes just they are often fully mature. It is a challenge getting to all the rotting corpses here on the property before the chicken do. In summation our cat keeps the chooks safe at night.
