What I've been advocating is using urine. Male human urine.
Recently there was a news story that they are using dogs to sniff out cancer. Since their sense of smell is thousands times more powerful than ours.
Now you can just go out and have the hus. "water" certain places in the yard. I've tied rags to places or use wood objects (logs) are good to since they will soak up the urine. Or have him fill a spray bottle and you can just go out and spray the stuff around yourself.
You can laugh and say eww, but I know there are fox and coyote around and coons too. So far things have worked out. Of course I do have my birds in a fenced in yard but we are surrounded by woods on three sides.
These buggers can smell for miles and I say if it works don't knock it. Or shoot them and that works too.
