Suddenly feathers everywhere!

Thanks guys! I'm glad it's no big deal. One other question though. Are all of these feathers laying around going to attract mites or anything? I was kind of doing the deep litter method in their house where you just scoop out the poops and add a fresh layer of bedding. But what about the feathers? I probably don't want those hanging out all winter getting grody, do I? Or is it not an issue since they came off the ducks in the first place?

I had not thought of that. Most of the molt feathers for us have floated off in the yard….I don't think mites could last very long without blood. So whether they would be on feathers, bedding or (more likely I think) in cracks in the shelter, would be the same, yes?

Ok, thanks Amiga. I guess I won't worry about it too much. This is my first experience with any animals other than cats and dogs, so I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right. I will just try to keep it all as clean as I can and not stress about it too much.
