Hey all, I wanted to post this a few days ago but forgot. Our Cali white pullet (21 weeks) started laying at about 19 weeks and for a week she laid normal eggs with one weird one on occasion. well, she has stopped laying shelled eggs and now only lays shell-less rubber eggs every few days. about a week ago she laid only a yolk along with another rubber egg. What could be going wrong with her? I did some research and found it could be a number of things from her repro system being immature to her producing eggs too fast, to not getting enough calcuim. They have oyster shell avaulable and after they are done with this bag of all flock I am switching them all to layer. If her system is simply moving too fast how can I slow it down so she can catch up, lol.

Thanks!

Many times it takes time for their system to regulate, and many young layers will lay shell less eggs, give he some time and it should straighten out. Stress is the biggest cause of shell less eggs, and beginning to lay is stressful.

That was quick.
