Heck, Polly is nearly as big as the Giants! She has such beautiful lacing, maybe she can pass that on to the OrpyGiant babies.

I think Cyn is having issues today

While we were talking the phone, Dutch ran at her and flogged her from behind. The little snot would have gone after her again had she not swatted and kicked at him. He did it when her back was turned and she was going out the coop. He welted her pretty good but did not break the skin thankfully...he slipped a little before he got to her and it slowed him down. From the way she was screaming I thought a hawk had swooped into her run but it turned out she was trying to fend off Dutch I am so thankful he did not pull this crap last weekend while I was there...I would have wrung his neck without even thinking twice about it or hurt him to keep him away from her.

She is beside herself because he has got to go now...either by rehoming or crockpot.

He only goes after her which makes the decision even harder...poor dear.

So say a prayer because Dutch has sealed his fate the stupid boy.

Thanks, my friend. I was so stunned that I didn't react as well as I should have. He has been no problem at all for a long time now, but I can't take the chance he'll make me lose my balance or break something else--took too long to recover from my broken ankle last year. He is in BSA for free--I wanted to spare Tom the heartache of having to put down a rooster he really cares about.

I so hope someone takes him...I would hate for Tom to have do that.

I kinda wish now he would have done it last weekend..I would have grabbed him and killed him right then and there and saved you both the heartache of having to do it yourself.

If I'd had both hands free at the time, I might have been able to grab him before he got out of the coop and snap his stupid neck, but he really got me by surprise (not so stupid when he knew I was distracted, huh?)

OH so sorry to hear about that.

All my Big Daddy's younguns are meaner than snot, one even flew up at my sisters shoulder and hit her, and have spurred me several times while feeding.

I had SIX, two got rehomed and the rest are eventually working their way into the freezer.

I sure miss my Big Daddy.

Roosevelt is spectacular, I wish I could have him if he would actually get Suede's attitude. His grandson, my BD only bumped my leg occasionally, HIS sons seem to be worthless. I have one that is blue and is going to look a lot like Suede. He was the meekest, now that all are gone but two tho, he has become a pain as well.


Well Cyn, to cheer you just a bit, I had some eggs in the bator, put too many in and they almost all turned out to not hatch due to overfilling my bator. But two popped out out of about 60 eggs, so were strong strong babies.

Well, guess what? I never thought it would happen! One has barring! I only have one barred rock, and thats Lily, so I have her baby to carry on the legacy, apparently one of those big dumb roosters got the job done. She never let Big Daddy touch her!

So, believe it or not, Lexies got a grandkid by Suedes great great grandkid! I need to get pics of the lil fart, I dont care if its a she or he, we are keeping it as long as it is NICE!

Jill, some of those darn roosters just break your heart! Well, Isaac got a larger harem because of it. He lost a couple of his former girls, though, because they are elderly and in the Old Hen's Home together now.

Well they are smart Cyn...take Severus and even Thor for example. They know they can intimidate her. Severus runs at her and Thor will run to the area and look menacing. They do not try that nonsense with me or if I am there...but I have caught them doing it to her from the second floor.

Dutch never chased you in front of Tom if I recall..but he attacked when your back was turned and his Daddy was nowhere around. He knew what he was doing. That is what pisses me off with him.

The little toerag knows better and waited for the "right" moment to do it.
