Excellent idea. She can drive here (10 hours), rest and sleep over here and then go to Cyn's (5 hours) and get Roosevelt and then return the same way....maybe you can have another dinner with Cyn & Tom....just Kre instathy theead of moi.

I like the plan myself.

However, I do NOT need another rooster! I have a Jersey Giant boy just about Polly's size.

Ask scbatz33 (Sarah) LOL And yes you are intimidated by Severus...you back up saying "Don't you do it"...stand your ground and tell him NO or crockpot for you!

she just looked at them and then headed for her shower. She loves Alice and Charlotte. She was so upset about Sarah's coon troubles and the fact her little bantam EE roo she traded for Hera was one of the victims, Sarah found him this morning...she is on the warpath and ready to kill every coon within a 5 mile radius. LOL

He was so adorable....R.I.P. James Bond (Chy's name for him) Sarah called him "Mr I'm too sexy for my coop" LOL

Sounds like a bad time for roosters right now. So sorry about James Bond, and well..... Dutchie Boy made his choice, as bad as it was. He should just join Jake, in the stew pot. Bad Dutch, very bad! I hope I don't have this problem pop up, as I really dred it. I will not tolerate a mean rooster here. They are too easy to replace (except my Jacob, that is! LOL )

Ya know, this is my biggest fear for Brutus and Chief. They're only 4 months old now [today exactly in fact!

] but I know that someday, it could be a very real possibility that they could turn on me unexpectedly. How I pray this never happens. I love those two silly little men with all of my heart. And having hatched them out myself, it would make it all that much worse. I'd far rather see them die in the line of duty than by my hand because they went off the deep end on me one day.

So sorry to hear that you're having these kinds of problems with Dutch, Cyn. As I said in the other thread, how I wish this had happened 4 months earlier. I would have moved heaven and earth to get that big hunk up here to my girls! He probably would have worked out just fine with them, and they would have truly appreciated having a mature and experienced man about the house.

But who knows. I might have simply acquired myself another version of Griffin. It still pains me to think about our parting. I know he's very happy at his new home and takes good care of his crazy little flock of chickens, ducklings, quail and turkeys, but that doesn't stop me from missing him and wishing that it had turned out differently for both of us.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for both you and Dutch, Cyn. Even as ticked off as you might be at him right now, and this betrayal of your loving care and raising of him, you know in your heart that you want only what's best for Dutch. I just hope you can find him a good home before he tries any other stupid stunts!

Oh Dutchy! What have you done? You foolish, foolish little man!

Serrin, I know. I walked on egg shells praying Thor never turned on me. I would have so hated losing that boy. I still watch him sometimes because he is still young, but I just do not see that boy ever attacking me. I would be heartbroken beyond words.

I am holding my breath with the rest of you- I thought I was a hen lover only, but my two boys have become more and more precious to me.

I am so very sorry about that adorable James Bond. Coons are nasty beings.

Here's "Blue". I sold him last year when I decided to really concentrate on the lavs. He had his "moments" and I was contacted not too long ago by the buyer because his attitude had gotten worse. I think he went to Kamp Kold.

He was maybe 10 months old when I got him in February of last year. He was so pretty and great with the girls, but he did have a bit of a temper, ESPECIALLY if he thought his girls were in trouble.

Oh he is a handsome fella. Thor can be a handful if he thinks his girls are in trouble too...but that has never been directed at me. He charges in to see why the girls are fussing and it is as if he assesses the situation and decides if he needs to get involved or not. Usually when he sees it is me holding one of doing something with her, he just looks and goes about his business....sometimes he will stand there and watch.
