Hi - received my 2nd batch of chicks this spring, and one of them (now 9 weeks old) is a Welsummer rooster. We really would like to find a new home for him (vs. giving him to someone to eat), as we have raised him as a pet, and my children would take it hard if we couldn't find him a home. We are located between Boston and Providence - does anyone have any suggestions of specific places in the area that may take a young rooster and give him a good home - farms, shelters, etc? I'm willing to drive a decent distance to relocate him to a good home. He's starting to crow, and we'll be transitioning the other babies outside soon, and I'm concerned that he will draw the neighbor's attention with his crowing - we're not allowed to have roosters with my acreage, so I really want to relocate him soon. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
