We didn't do well at all, but my brother has concluded he is going to sell his brahma cockerel. There were 7 sussex in our class and one of my two sussex hens came third. So we didn't do as well as I thought we would. I did get to be a steward for a judge and i learned a bit.

Zach congratulations on you success.

Well, you got the first one outta the way and learned from it plus you had a 3rd place, sounds like you did well to me. Why is your brother going to sell his rooster? I hope you two had fun.

It was nice to be involved in the show. my brother is getting rid of his Brahma as his saddles hackles and neck hackles are to bright, we might as well aim high with the quality of birds we buy. Then we will achieve show standards sooner.

And some updated pics of the chicks at 3 months old, and the RIR. Are the Rhode island reds supposed to have black in their feathers like my cockerel?

Raph don't feel alone. When I did my first show I did terrible. I won 8th and 4th place with my chickens. I knew nothing at all about show chickens back them. You did much better than me on your first show. so good Job!!

Speaking of pox, hows your birds doing Cubakid?

Doing great! Almost completely gone. Without the vaccine, everything got it. Everything got it at different times too, but got over it. Some of the Ameraucanas got secondary illnesses but I think they will be fine. Now it's time for round two of culling, three hundred birds is a little overwhelming.
Thanks for keeping tabs.

Quote: How did you cure your wet pox? I am pulling out the growths them putting iodine on the bloodly spots were the wet pox was. It keeps on growing back no matter what I do.
