Im going to try and get more spurs in my youngsters. I have 2 breeding Roos, one has maybe 5-6 spurs and the other only has 2 on each leg but much bigger.
This was maybe 5 months ago and they're even bigger now!
They're a little tired from duking it out so I rolled them over haha

Such good mommas though. They are ultra protective, they attack anything within eyesight of their babies...kinda funny to watch them take off after the barn cats ( who know their roles and have never ever touched a chicken) But the moms chase them around the barn pecking and screaming! We had a weasel issue this summer, and lost 17 babies in two nights, but not one of the Sumatra chicks! I have a ton of Roos, so the chicks wont be pure Sumatra's ( although I do have two roosters of those as well) So I'm excited to see what their final feathering looks like...Right now they are black with lots of white spots ( black legs and face though)...
