Summer 2012 Granny "Square" Swap (sign ups closed)

Betty~ WOW!!! Love your 12" squares!!! Thanks for the pic! Glad you got your veggies covered. I've been doing some deep cleaning here myself today. I'll do some crocheting later tonight if I'm not too tired.

Alethea~ I think I need glasses or got distracted.

Unfortunately my mistake was made in the beginning as well and didn't catch it until I was finished.

I was too lazy to undo it, but maybe I should. Oh lazy me. Hmmm... we'll see if I can undo the knots I used to change colors.

OH I wish I could make these! I haven't tried to yet, but I'm hoping! They are so stinking cute! You've done an amazing job!

Betty ~ Love those squares!! For the pattern I used, I watched this video to figure it out:
. I hope it helps!!
Hi everyone,

I just took pix of the blocks I've done so far. I'm trying the one Btownchickmom posted and I don't understand the second row that says to go around the post. Maybe I'm just tired as I've been cleaning all day, you know the scrub the baseboards, corners, etc. in the bathroom. My company will be here the 9th. We are still having afternoon wind but so far not as bad as we were having. We finished the shade over the raised veggie beds. The desert sun is terrible on tomatoes and cucumbers. We covered four raised beds and four containers with a 14x19 cover and I can feel the difference when I am underneath it.

Here are the pix of the blocks completed so far. I am only enthused over one of them but still have some more patterns to try. I haven't tried a rectangle yet and 6" blocks are no problem. I hope everyone has a good weekend and are away from any fires.

BETH~ AWESOME youtube reference!!!! I had no idea what an around the post stitch was. Thank you sooooo much for posting! I book marked it!

Another reason why I love the crochet section. I am always learning something new all the time. BTW~ Is that 12" a free pattern by chance? If so would you or Betty mind sharing?

Lol, I love youtube for this kind of stuff. I'm trying to teach myself to knit and the videos have helped a LOT. It's going to take a long time before my knitting stitches look halfway decent, though.

It is a free pattern. I found it on Ravelry.com and here is the link: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/julieannys-stained-glass-afghan-square. After I figured out the fpsc, it wasn't too hard.

Hi everyone, my name is Cathy. I live in Maine. I was really excited when I saw that there was a crochet swap! I'm an avid crocheter, knitter, quilter, etc...and a crazy chicken lady too! I would like to join the swap if its open to newbies. I belonged to "crochetlist" for a very long time but haven't been involved in swaps in a few years. Would love to do them again!
