Summer 2012 Granny "Square" Swap (sign ups closed)

Well speaking for myself, if you look on the back side of my blocks and expect them to look like the front side .................................... well let's just say .................................. you will be dissapointed!!!! lol lol lol There is a reason it is called the "backside".

I have a different block I've been working on that I am excited about, it is squares inside of squares at an offset so they look like they are twisting sort of. This one is not my original block, the interesting part of the block is a pattern I found, I did change the outer borders though.

Good morning everyone. It sounds like everyone has a lot on their plate right now. Wow! Congratulations on the new baby. Hope she'll be fine real soon. New baby chicks, Wow. I have a silkie splash sitting on two eggs. I tried to discourage her due to our high summer heat but it didn't do anything for her except get her in a foul (or should I say "fowl" mood. lol)

I still have my company. We don't know when escrow will close. The inspection showed structural damage but the appraisal came in high enough to cover the repairs but they're not sure they want the higher payment. At this late date and after the first house falling through I hope they don't have to start all over again.

Here is a picture of my new gal Sadie. She'll be 3 months on the first. Hope everyone has a nice day.

Hey Ladies!!!

How has everyone been doing? This project looks really good. I hope you will post some picts of the finished projects.
Did anyone post pictures from the Spring swap?

Okay, I'll finish with the Silver Blue then :D Hope I don't run out again... :p

Now, for some very VERY exciting chicken news! I have two broody hens sitting on eggs, and today when I went out to the coop I heard cheeping! Look what I found! :D
0h boy! Thank you for the picture. I haven't seen a chicken in four months! I'll have to wait until I get to Berkeley next Tuesday to let you know about squares. I might also have a good alternate color there & be able to start right away instead of waiting until I can get to Joann's.

I think the finishing row was a slip stitch, ch 2, and slip stitch in every other stitch. Alternate stitches were just a slip stitch. I hope that helps.
Thank you! I like the wavy edge it produced. I'll have to try it on the next beanie hat I make.

Here is the new block I was talking about. It is a 12 inch square, not sure how many I will have time or yarn to make.

Hi canesisters~ Alethea posted a pic of her beautiful afghan she made w/ her spring swaps. Can't remember if anyone else posted pics of their projects. Mine are still in their plastic baggies in their mailing box.
