I reckon it will definately be a girl and that she will be born on the 9th July weighing 6lb 12 oz.

We have only just changed the law so that the firstborn child rather than the firstborn son becomes monarch. Queen Elizabeth has been brilliant so long live her great grandaughter, one day to be queen.

Majack I have you down

Thanks for the 4th wishes, I did forget!!! went to mail the blocks for the other swap and had to really think why is the PO closed, DH is over the road so no celebrations here and rain, rain and more rain so all of the 4th fireworks have been cancelled. oh well next year.

I heard William wants a girl and Kate wants a boy I hope she put her order in early

Hello Blockers,

We have approximately 6 weeks before this block is due, please plan accordingly so I can have all blocks and I would like to ship them back to you by the week of the 19th. If you can not make this dead line please PM me or if you have dropped out also let me know.

Thanks
Kat

I have a problem I need your help with, I have 4 inch square, squares but I am only getting 10 inch blocks, I am using a scant 1/4 seam, so to do a block like this I need to go to 5 inch square blocks?
anytime I try to do a solid centered block I always run into trouble, any way to fix this?

These were going to be my summer blocks

Oops I see a mistake I need to correct the first row.

Are you saying the triangle squares are 4 inches before sewing them into the full blocks? Then I'm guessing the center square is cut 4 1/2 right? If I am thinking this correctly- the triangle squares need to be a finished 4 1/2 inches in order to be the same size as the center square for all to fit right in the whole block. With the seams being 1/4 inch your block should end up being 12 1/2. I'm thinking all this without laying it out which is how I usually do it to make sure so I'll go grab some scraps and see. Anyone else, to be sure?

Okay, I cut some 4 1/2 inch blocks and set it up. All small blocks being 4 1/2 makes it the 12 1/2 finished block size. Just make your triangle squares bigger. When I do the triangle squares I usually make them too big, then trim them to size making sure to line up diagonal corners with the center seam. A piece of cereal box cut to 4 1/2 inch square is a perfect "template" for sizing!:)

I totally understand that one! I used some templates to make these fans but the flying chicken fabric I was going to use isn't going to work. I have to figure out how to turn 9 1/2 inch fans into 12 1/2 inch square blocks without visually losing the fans in the final block. I'm thinking strips to get it to size, like log cabin style.
