My baby girl willow is two years old, has stopped eating and spends all her time in a sleeping position. I have moved her inside and noticed that she is not eating. She is so light weight now that I feel no fat on her and her bones are all I feel. She had some discharge from her nose, but that all cleared up. I don't know what to do and my baby is dying. She is dinking water, though.

She is so weak now that she has trouble walking and can't jump up the ramp to her coop anymore. I heard her peck at some feed during the night, and felt her crop this morning and there was some stuff in there. It wasn't super hard, but I still massaged it just in case it was a blockage and heard some gurgling when I did that. No luck.

Everything else seems fine now, except that she is doing nothing but sleeping and not eating at all.

You must put electrolytes in the water.
Mash up her food or tempt her with a treat.

Sounds like she had a minor stroke, this has happened to me, but I can't say for 100%.
When did you notice the problem?

My stepdad said she was hunched up and molting, but I picked her up and the way she barely spoke/talked is when I took her in. I took her inside two days ago.

EDIT: I mashed up some of her food and added water. She won't eat it.

I see.
Has anything traumatic happened to her or has she lost a friend recently?

Have you tried electrolytes?
Has she laid recently?

Nothing traumatic as far as I have seen. I'm adding electrolytes now. None of my hens have laid in months because of a harsh Summer. It is now fall/winter.

Oh dear. It does sound bad. Are the other hens at all affected?

My other hens all seem fine except for the one, Mocha, who is hating the drop of temperature. She's fine, just a bit more fluffed up than usual, but she does this every winter. Mocha is still eating, drinking, talking, pecking other hens as top hen and begging for cuddles.

I think maybe you should administer electrolytes mash some pellet food make it Like dough then add more water to soften see if she eats you might wanna monitor her droppings as that can give you an idea a good thing to do you can check her vent her eyes nose inside her mouth or even under her feathers mites can cause malnutrition I’ve had and it’s not fun I hope willow gets better

I put electrolytes in her water and she is drinking that. We got her medicated chick started mashed up with water for her, but she did not eat it.
