Support Group for Abused Duck Keepers

@Mother-Hen-Michele i did buy a kiddie pool but plan on using a different pool, if i can get it. But i wont be raising the water till they get older.
what kind of duck are they? (sorry, I lost track)

some kinds will climb into water the first time they see it, others just want to clean themselves and drink.

The day I brought the Khaki Campbells home from the store I had a little take-out coffee cup 2/3 full of water for the drive home. The boy climbed into the cup as soon as he saw it. He never saw water he didn't love. The muscovy girls never saw mud they would resist putting their beaks into up to their necks (based on the mud on their heads)

they tend to make the choices... I just made due...

I may have to order some of these! Thanks for the link.

I like that the drain is on the side. I had one that was on the bottom floor, and was really hard to get to drain.

I would also suggest getting a vinyl patch kit to have on hand. Mine lasted a few years, with a few patch jobs, but overall, not bad for the money.

oooo, that one is super cute, do you have the link for it (or brand)

I'm a little stressed. My sister is having a bridal shower this weekend and I'm going to go, but my runner eggs are due to hatch April 1st 😵‍💫
I'm going to leave some instructions for my husband so hopefully everything goes ok.
if your sister is not a duck-mom herself (in which case she would have had the shower in your livingroom next to the brooder and made the whole thing about the eggs), she would be pretty bummed you chose something she keeps in the fridge next to old cheese, over her special day...

oh, when you do call home and check on the eggs, remember to first ask your spouse how HE is doing (if it is just "go stand next to the eggs and turn the camera on them" as soon as he picks up... you may need to make time for a marriage councilor when you get home)

wish we could baby sit for you... you could set up a webcam and we could watch for you... we can then call your local 911 if the humidity seems off or one starts to rock...

She could set him up an account on here and tag him in this thread
That way we can guide him if he can’t get ahold of her 😂

but then he might read this thread and learn that she is really married to the ducks... there are times this feels like an affair I don't fully want my spouse to know about... he does not, for example, know how much meal worms cost, or just how much lettuce the ducks eat in winter when it is crazy expensive (too much for us to eat it!)

Stahhhhhp it! This is the cutest thing I have ever seen!
The single cutest thing?
My ducks are actually quite offended

Yall I'm honestly so hypocritical. I will act all confused when I see bad grammar or things that look off, while knowing darn well I am the creator of typos
Oh boy, me too... my biggest pet peeve is when people muddle up "there", "their" and "they're". And I'm so tired I've done it a handful of the times in the past week. I hang my head in shame and cringe at myself.

Very true
I don’t tell hubby the costs either
Thankfully mine works away from home so he doesn’t see how much I buy.
I buy the spring mix lettuce for winter and I use nutritional yeast everyday ( very costly )
