So sorry for your loss

Very sad to say baby 3 ( sunshine ) passed away last night
She was fast mouth breathing from birth and her belly was swelling a lot by that evening it was huge
I did take her to my vet that night
We started antibiotics
Her thoughts were septic
She fought so hard for 2 days but the meds didn't have the time needed to work ( only got 24 hours worth )
I’m glad she is at peace now and no longer struggling

My birds will thank me this winter
Pumpkins are growing nice
To bad they are wild and take over the yard
No idea where my watermelons are going to grow as the pumpkins are attaching themselves to them , my deck and my tree
My first time ever doing them so it’s a learning curve
Next year the watermelons will be across the yard
There is well over 25 and new ones coming up daily

We have pumkins growing up a fence so when they get really heavy not sure what will happen. We also have some on the ground. Your garden looks great!!!

When did you duck start this screaming? I know you say your Cayugas are not interested in mating but they are old enough. That was the age one of my Khaki Campbell Drakes started to chase my Hens. Sometimes we don't always see their behavior. I was just curious.

Sorry so late answering. The loud mouth screamer started this loud quack thing around the end of June. I think she is still trying to be the alpha, she ducks her head down and kind of “chases” the bigger ducks, until they see her then she runs off. It’s like kid behavior.

I think she wants attention, mainly just wants me out there with her. She will quack loud when they are all playing and such but she is much more quiet and at peace when I am outside.

I think she wants attention, mainly just wants me out there with her. She will quack loud when they are all playing and such but she is much more quiet and at peace when I am outside.

Mine are much louder whenever they see or hear me leaving or outside. I am the one that gives the fresh water, food and treats. They are so stinking observant! My big Mule duck yesterday would not come to get lettuce out of my hand because I had on flip flops and not my normal red duck shoes! The rest could of cared less but she stood back a foot and would not take it from my hand. She just kept staring at my shoes! lol Funny Ducks!!!

It feels so weird to me that if I hadn't chosen those exact boxes, I wouldn't have these girls, they wouldn't even exist!
All those two are, wasted on some random person's omlet!

I know they didn't start developing until I put them in my incubator, but somedays it still feels weird to me. I'm so incredibly glad I chose those eggs.

same analogy is applicable to humans.
