This will be my house someday
*Sigh* If only…

It feels like admitting I have an addiction reading this thread.

This thread started about 1 1/2 hrs ago and it is 12 pages long already!

I have a tiny Kahki Campbell guarding 3 ducklings and I have never seen anything that fierce. She weighs, what? 2 apples? But she lunges like a goose!

I want to cuddle the babies so they are happy having contact once they are grown, but she won't have it.

I raised her and her brother/father to her babies from 1 day old, and I thought I was a good momma, but now she does not want me to be grandma.

Is she criticizing my parenting skills?

I definitely need therapy...

I thought having her broody would be nicer than me raising them... Now I feel left out.

Same. When I start talking they get louder. I guess they just dont want to listen to me blab. Again sorry mistresses and master ducks. I didn’t mean to offend you even when I listen to you blab ENDLESSLY all day.

Yet no matter how hard I try they still insist

Edit/ that’s me in the back running to fetch their request
Right!!! Why are they so rude!!
They never let me speak!

I sung to them as ducklings, they loved it.
But now whenever I start singing or humming, Sprightly YELLS and YELLS until I stop!
Dougie doesn't though! Dougie still likes it and goes to sleep!

Ok here is the actual list.1) beautiful feathers, that's why I don't love khaki kambells. 2) could hypothetically be able to fly. 3) go broody. I ain't getting no more birds that can't keep themselves going. OK maybe I'll make an exception for leghorns and ISA browns
Agree on the khaki campbells, mine has a great personality but looks wise she ain’t no 10

I have some beautiful ducks: welsh harlequins, cayugas, saxonys & I personally think the pure white of pekins in beautiful

Not a great pic but you can see them all, I have another pekin that’s hiding in my raspberries somewhere

I feel this. I know geese with better manners!

We hear you! That's completely valid

My hope is that I'll have a better experience with Dougie, she's imprinted on me, and is still super friendly. My hope is that when I let her brood, she'll trust me with them.
I may be proven wrong which is fine 😂 but I have that hope.
