Support Group for Abused Duck Keepers

Maybe post into the rehoming thread?

aren't there still people buying ducklings at Easter who then need to "get rid" of them after the abuse (and muck) begins?

I would check with the shelters again in a few weeks.

Always people who "think" ducklings poo sunshine around and are VERY surprised when something "else" comes out their butts.

a little patience... Your duck is out there.... She/he will be waddling into your garden sometime soon
Oh boy, don't remind me... I'm going to have to be on permanent watch duty at my local lakes for the abandoned easter babies.
Spent so long trying to catch a pekin last year, and failed. She's gone now. Freaking foxes. And freaking people impulse buying ducks for Easter :(

Well, wouldn't you know it. I've been giving ducklings treats whenever I come to clean their water and now they SCREAM the moment they hear us come home. This baby especially.
Little Killgor is a daddy's baby for sure.

How much do you guys wanna bet this one's gonna grow up to be the most demanding dictator? 🤣

Yes I’ll definitely wait till then. I would love to rescue and help some ducks in need. People don’t understand what type of care needs to go into them. They think they are all cute and fuzzy forever. But they aren’t small forever
I'll be using my tiktok platform to advertise the joy of ducks....
Featuring abuse and poop
See if that puts some people off this easter impulse 🤣

I'm not one for betting....but that's no gamble. That there is a sure thing.

That's awful... our local pond is thankfully full of domestic ducks, as a man from the county takes care of them there (there's a coop and all, I'd love to have his setup one day). I wonder if people in my area also dump ducks to that pond... 😕
