Support Group for Abused Duck Keepers

Yes! :celebrate
We unfortunately had one pass away, otherwise it would be 6. 😥 he externally pipped but made no further progress. Looks like the edges around his hole may have gotten hard so he couldn't get any further. My husband said the rest of the membrane was fine and not stuck to him.
Im sorry..

I do bob my head back when my ducks do it to me
I talk to them a lot too
I also think my neighbours must think I’m crazy
Yesterday was really cold here -22 c in the morning
My ducks like to follow me back to the house when I let them out in the mornings and when it’s that cold they struggle
So yesterday my drake started ti follow me and I turned around and said no
You go home
He put his head down and turned around and went back
They really do understand me but people that don’t own ducks would never know how smart they actually are
So we look crazy talking and gesturing to them
Sooo sweet! I have to agree... it is sad sight to see when they want to spend more time with you and you have to go in... Winter is hard on everybody. Spring will be so welcome!! we can all join the gaggle flocks and gang again, hang out with them in the sun....🌈🌤️ and talk all day!

We have a second baby
He actually was 3/4 zipped not sure how as his foot was over his head but when I picked the egg up the cap pretty much crumbled and he slipped right out
Baby 3 still has a little bit of veins
The other 7 are all working hard
We should have more hatches tonight and into tomorrow :)
@Isadora we are both very lucky :)
My babies won’t be staying though they have a new home once they all hatch so I can’t get to attached :)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who bobs my head and talks to them
When they were house ducks, I was carrying Sprightly to the bath tub, passed my mums room, didn't know she was in there.
I was just chatting away about her going in the bath, then I might get her a treat before bed. What treat would you like? I'll go get Dougie in a second.
And my mum just pokes her head out from the door and gives me this look like "are you talking to the duck?"
I was truly shocked at her behaviour, butting in on a private conversation like that. The audacity!
Un-believable. Some animals just can't be trained. Haha!! What a great connection you must have with your duck-os! Love talking to all my feathery friends, too.😁

Wanted to share some of my bigger clan from yesterday
My khaki cross girls get the eye markings
