That would be me thank you very much
I like snow for a good few minutes, then I require indoors, a fire, and hot chocolate. More than a few days of snow is a no!!

Best and worst snow we ever had was heavy. It settled on the ground, a couple inches. Then it froze over, a sheet of thin ice on the top. Then more snow. Then another layer of ice
You expected a soft landing for your foot, instead there was a loud crack and it shattered and crunched under foot. Super satisfying- but the roads were out of use as we were all encouraged to not drive.

That was pretty much a one off. Usually we don't get heavy snow.

Reminded me of this video LOL
That was my birds lol
But they made it a little further
I’m really glad they do know to go in their duck house when weather is bad though
They now have a covered area attached covering the door way
So I can keep feed and water in there and they stay dry and out of the winds

Where I am located in Ohio has been absolutely crazy. We had our White Christmas and cold weather around then and the rest of this winter has been great. No snow to speak of and warmer than ever temperatures. Farther up North got hit with some here but not us located more Central. We were totally Blessed as I only had to carry water twice to the ducks as the faucet was froze. That was an unheard of winter for us and I have been soooooo happy with it. Other states around us and farther had absolutely crazy weather.

I’m having a sad day
Long story short my first ducks ever is daisy and her sister then peep
We lost Mia at about 7 months from eating a penny. Wasn’t found till after she was gone. I don’t even have Pennie’s so maybe something she dug up
I then hatched 5 babies from them
Unfortunately daisy has been her sons number one duck to mate along with peep
I have been keeping daisy / peep separated from the crew for months
I have been trying and trying to figure out how to make things work till today when I got a text from somebody I know looking for a adult drake
I took some time to think and decided beaker would go but I’m sending his sister too so he doesn’t get depressed at a new place alone
He will be the only drake abc now have 6 new ladies
But I’m sad 😞 I really love my ducks so much
But daisy needs to feel safe where she doesn’t get chased by both boys all the time
Peep will protect her and he can chase one boy away
I just feel like I’m letting them down sending them off
Your not letting them down. your doing the right thing for your flock, although i wouldn't be able to to this either. :hugs
