Ducks are on day 19 as well, but down to only 3 eggs, one of which I was able to candle and was alive, but had a crack in the center of the egg . This was 2 days ago, so I'm not sure if he's still alive. This late into incubation though, he might have a chance.
Also I wasn't able to separate mamas. As much as I'd like to, especially after the freshly built nest box addition, I really think its fine. I have 8 days of incubation left and Its better not to risk it after how far they've come.

I was sitting with her in her carrier, quacking
Just chatting to me, a little anxious

And the person opposite stared for a while and finally goes "that's a duck?"

And then some kids came in, stare in awe and turn to the mum going "there's a duck in there!"

We felt like celebrities

Little do they know we are just the slave / maid to this cute little quacker in the crate

I dont have avian or exotic vets within 2 hours of me...

My avian is 3 hours away Thankfully they have been really good about having my local vet deal with most of the stuff. We have only had to travel twice
They tell my vet what she should test or do
Saves me a lot of trips
Not everyone gets that lucky

Our vet recently switched to being more small animal than large animals, i have seen rabbits and other small animals, plus parrots taken in there.

So when i went to my local feed store i just peeked into the bin of ducklings .... the little brown and yellow duckling is so darn cute! I should have brought another to home...

Why are they addicting?. My Welsh Harlequins wont be in till April 21st now...... Apparently the lady who we ordered the ducks throught didnt do the order right, and now everytime we are in the store she quickly walks away.. im worried i wont get them..
