Why are they addicting?🤣🤣. My Welsh Harlequins wont be in till April 21st now.....😞. Apparently the lady who we ordered the ducks throught didnt do the order right, and now everytime we are in the store she quickly walks away.. im worried i wont get them..
Aww man I'm really sorry. They're addicting for the same reason you ordered some from a hatchery😆. At least now you have a set date that's been cleared up. Hope it all goes well

On day 19 with the duck eggs, candled on day 14 with only one quitter and am now with 13 viable, but good lord I'm so nervous about any hatching. Their air cells might not be right and that's because of a problem with my incubator.

I guess I also am getting confused about how RH works. Every few days I'll refill the canals with water, and originally I'd do a whole kettle worth (like 250ml or something Idrk) but then I realized that right away the rh would shoot up to 75% or there abouts, so lately I've only done the smallest little bit of water, maybe 50ml, but I can't seem to get the humidity down to 55%, really at all this hatch. The only difference with doing less and less is that it runs back down to about 30% RH faster, which is when it's empty. I Considered converting to dry hatch but as I've seen, with no water in the canals it only gets to 30%.

So do y'all know how exactly RH works? I've heard that its based on surface area or something but I never really made sense of it. I've always just kept refilling the canals once they got empty and had it even out.
Any thoughts on this y'all? I can start a new thread if need be.

Thanks.. I ordered them Feb 15th thats why i dont understand. But i was suppose to pay for them and i never did, because she wrote down our number and what ducks we wanted then walked away. I hope all goes well to.

Our vet recently switched to being more small animal than large animals, i have seen rabbits and other small animals, plus parrots taken in there.
If they see parrots they should see poultry
Parrots require avian/exotics vets

Just bear in mind that humidity is increased based on area of water, and not depth. So to increase humidity, use a wider area of water, to decrease it, use a smaller area. You could always forsake the water canals and put a container in the incubator that would be correctly sized. Ultimately you just want to play around with it until you find what works.
Just ensure whatever you use for water isn't accessible to the babies once they hatched. I had to get creative with mine, I used a small ceramic dish, wrapped hair bands over it until they covered the top like a grid to prevent babies getting in. This worked, but I could've been smarter and used sponges etc to get humidity up, lol
