Don't worry I've been there so many times. I start a project and work on planning for months until I can't go any further

Well, considering I've been trying for a broody for 7 years I'd say I'm getting pretty desperate

A week and a few days till Easter I'm so frigging excited

I did eventually block him
The first time I had to cause every time she came out to drink he would mate her
The second time we only made it a week then she quit so he was still in with her
Those are the babies I just hatched

Ohhh gotcha. I was surprised, though because all the other males would try to mate the broodies but not my Rouen drake, he'd just chase all the other males off when they tried to mate, and once or twice he was trying to sit on the eggs himself

Yeah, the chicken gods won't do me the honor of having one though 11 years keeping chickens, 7 years of hoping for a broody, 5 years of actively trying to find/get one, last year a broody I got from a person I know was the closest thing that came to a broody, but she came broody and broke after three weeks
